At Ease LLC’s Entertainment line grows directly out of 30+ years playing guitar. Whether it’s solo at an open mic or with a full band, the same tasteful, balanced approach carries over into the on-site AV, event production, and creative direction work done for other artists and venues.

Influences

From Fingerstyle to Jazz to Classic Rock — top favorites lean toward Led Zeppelin and guitar-driven rock.

A weekly-updating focus playlist, and a good sample of the acoustic-driven music enjoyed most.

Dirty Zen plays 90’s music that’s both heavy and melodic — nailing the nuance of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Alice in Chains took more work than expected, and there’s a lot of great guitar music that came out of the Grunge era. The band also promotes and occasionally collaborates at the open mic at the Bus Stop Cafe in Olympia, part of the events the Entertainment line runs sound and production for.

Previous Projects

Olympia Musical Chairs — a group of close friends who love playing music together, and where the local open-mic hosting experience started. The music ranges classic rock, blues, and zany.

Patrick Bourland, a friend from the group, also worked together on a full-band version of one of his original songs:

Suped Up Fjord — founded with good friends Tim Lutman and Shannon Stanton after a stint together in the Lutman Posse. Six years of life together and making music is one of the most profound experiences in the story so far.
